Rest Assured, You\u2019ve Got This."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Interviewing can be a downright terrifying process making you question if you indeed&nbsp;<i>are<\/i>&nbsp;qualified and the best candidate for the job \u2013 which you know, deep down, that you are. Though the task of both phone interviews and in-person interviews are daunting, a simple rundown of how awesome you are helps to easy those nerves. Feeling shaky? What have you done in the past that utilized the same set of skills necessary for this position? Maybe you volunteered or simply decided to create a project on your own time. That all counts towards why you\u2019re a great candidate, so talk about it! For instance, I volunteered to coordinate dances for my neighborhood recreation center. Let\u2019s say part of the job description that I\u2019m applying for references event coordination. Boom, there\u2019s some experience.<\/li>\n<li><b>You Don\u2019t Have to Know it All, Just Be Willing to Learn: <\/b>You don\u2019t have to be an expert in everything required for the position you\u2019re applying for, you just need to be able to say, with confidence, that you\u2019re willing to do what it takes to learn. Have you ever taken a course or learned a skill on your own time? Express your interest in the topic or skill, and your eagerness to master it.<\/li>\n<li><b>If You Don\u2019t Have the Answer, It\u2019s Okay: <\/b>Especially with questions aimed at your professional future, you don\u2019t have to know all the answers. Reiterate your interest in the position and the fact that this is the general direction you\u2019re looking to take your career, but if you don\u2019t have a goal job title picked out for your future, that\u2019s okay. Talk about the skills and experiences that have led you to this point, what about them you liked and disliked. That gives a general sense of what you want (and want to avoid), without all of the specifics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Everybody\u2019s at least a little nervous when thinking about upcoming interviews. Just take a step back, think about your prior experience, breathe, and know that you\u2019ve got this. If you\u2019d like to set the stage for the interview before actually having said interview, think about creating a video resume. By doing so you\u2019ve already laid out the groundwork of explaining how amazing you are, the interview is simply a time to get down to the details!
